Arnova 10 g2 dc jack repair

Today I have a Arnova 10 G2 tablet, the lower end tablets out there. The problem: the DC jack on it, looks like they tried to force the plugin, then the pin bend. Never before had a chance to work in something like this. It’s like any other device, the trick is to open it then after that is all downhill.

One of the tools that I like to use is a credit card, specially on devices that are being open for the first time.

After getting the case open, it’s good idea to never open the case all the way. Some cables are still connected, by pulling the case apart it will lead to ripping those cables.

After checking there no cables are in the way, it’s time to open up the whole case.

We can see the DC Jack, I have already removed a small cap that was covering the inside of the dc jack.

We can see that this DC Jack is solder in. After I removed the solder from the leads, I pull the whole dc jack while heating up the remainder solder.

Now I need to get a new one.
Waiting on the ordered part to arrive
